Recently I discovered a large collection of what appeared to be records related to home loans. Upon further research the records were connected to Texas based Southwest Funding.

On May 20th I discovered a publicly accessible database that contained a large amount of records. I was able to see information that was consistent with home loan lead data and internal content management systems. The database required no username or password and anyone with an internet connection could have potentially had access to the 695,636 exposed records.

This discovery was published on Secure Thoughts a privacy and data security site dedicated to raising awareness on how individuals can protect their digital communications, actions and discussions
